IN THE AIR.
PASSENGER SERVICES. COMPREHENSIVE PLANS. ' Br Tttefrapb.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 2, 7-30 p.m. London, Sept. 1. Owing to the Government's decision to curtail its airship programme, it has been decided to place certain airships, and airship stations and Btores at the disposal of interested parties with a view to commercial development. Though the Government decision to drastically curtail the airship programme is deplored in some quarters as savoring of panic and likely to hamper progressive development, a Liverpool syndicate proposes to inaugurate, in May, 1920, world-wide services with rigids, carrying 50 passengers, and non-rigids for shorter voyages, carrying 50 passengers. Liverpool will be the principal base for the services, which will include all the European capitals, Australia, North and South America, South Africa, and the Far East. The syndicate proposes to' buy the Government's uncompleted airships. The London-Paris aeroplane expresses continue to operate with great punctuality in variable weather. ■ A new Pullman service starts to-day, and a LondonBrussels service begins next week.—Aus.N.Z.
