TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. The Taranaki Land Board met on August 27, 28, and 29, when there were present Messrs Bullard (chairman), Heslop, Ryan, Cloland, and Martin. N. A. Print's application for section i, block IV, Pouatu S.D. was refused, on the ground that it was too large for him to successfully work. A. F. Edmond's application for section 11, block VII, Omona S.D. was left in* the hands of the Commissioner.
Applications for closed roads in Grey district and Nobs' Line, by Messrs Spence and Dempsey respectively, were held over.
i The undermentioned applications to transfer were approved!:—Section 1288 New Plymouth, Messrs Wallath to T. P. Smith; seotions 5 and 6, block 42, Patea Suburbs, G. Prouse to N. C. Harding; lots 1 and 2, section W, New Plymouth Town Belt, C. Skitrop to T. Fitzglbbon; part section 184 Patea District, G. Castle to A. Beamish; sections 36 and 36, block It, Omona S.D., J. Savage to H. L. Walker; sections 1 to 6 and 12 to 17, block XXVI, M&naia, D. Henderson to M. L. Merrie; sub-section 3 of sections 1322 and 1323, New Plymouth, E. J. Boon to E. McAllum; section 569, New Plymouth,, J. O. Pearce to G. Shepherd; sections 10 and 13, block IX, Ngatiniaru &J>., Messrs Perrott to J, C. and C. J. Pox; section 3, block 111, Waro S.D., J. | Fabish to H. H. Meyer; section fl, block 11, Mahoe SJD., W. Schneider to F. J, Proffit: section 4, block XIV, Omona Si)., Messrs Kelly, Hill and Dive to i Messrs Kelly, Hill, and Gower. The transfer of section 8, block VI, Opaku S.D., from D. J. Willis to G. J. IHawken, was approved Subject to production of a medical certificate. The transfer of section 22, block XV, Ngatimaru AD, C. Skitropp to W. E. Clegg, was deferred for a ranger's report,
The transfer of section 4, block HI, Mapara S.D., George Tyrer to A. Prentice, was refused.
The transfer of section 2, block VI, Heao S.D., Messrs Potter Bros, to G. Potter, was deferred.
Three mortgages were received and ap> proved.
The application of T. Reardon to sur[render his lease of section 1, block X, [Mahoe S.D., was agreed to. The application of H. L. Taylor to surrender his small grazing run lease of section 10, Mock Xm, Waitara S.D., and obtain in lieu thereof a renewable lease, was agreed to.
It was proposed that section 7, block X, Mahoe S.D., be offered. In connection with discharged soldiers' applications, 3 for stock and chattels, 22 for houses, and 47 for rural lands were considered and dealt with according to the circumstances of each case. Applicants for seven sections of land in Kota Settlement were examined and the sections alloted as drawn in ballot.
