ANOTHER CLOUD ON THE HORIZON. TROUBLE LOOMING WITH HOLLAND By Telegraph,—Press A«sn.—Copyright. Paris, Aug. 26. The dispute between the Dutch and Belgian delegates at the commission for the revision of the treaty of 1839 was so violent that the Belgians decided to return to Brussels. The French Foreign Office at the last moment persuaded them to remain, pending the receipt of the report of the Dutch Minister in London.
This accuses the Belgians of constantly violating Dutch rights in the Scheldt, and points out that Holland will never permit the Scheldt to 'become the DutchBelgian frontier, inasmuch as the present frontiers are the outcome of the historic developments of Holland's positive right. Pieplying to the Belgian demands. Holland ditflaved that any attempt to enforce tho proposed new lioundarics will be regarded as a casus belli.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
