INGLEWOOD.
It Is stated that Jlv. A. Paterson, solicitor, inglewood, has taken Into partnership Mr. Lan G. Grant, who has lately returned from the front. Mr. Grant is a native-born Inglewoodian, possibly, if not certainly, tho first to attain to legal honors, and is veil known here. As manager of Messrs. Weston and Billings' local office before the war called him. Ho Is a son of the late Mr. J. Grant, for many years head of tho Inglewood school, and a grand-son of the late Mr. Thomas Drake, one of tho very earliest settlors of the district and therefore needs no Instruction. It cannot be doubted that the old as well as the new residents will wish the firm every success. The Farmers' Co-op. saleyards at Inglewood were well filled for their fortnightly sale on Wednesday last, the 20th Inst. All classes of stock being well represented. Tho weather was favorable, there being a taslo of the coming spring in the air, and a numerous assembly of Interested spectators kept things lively. Late market prices for all lines were fully maintained, whllo dairy imc* were in strong demand. Tho residence and land adjoining the yards, tho property of tho Association, mough offered at auction as advertised, were passed in, tlie bidding not having reached the figure at which the vendors are agreeable to sell. It is hardly likely, however, that so compact a. holding, situated in every way so advantageously, will long await a purchaser.
