Wellington, Last Night. The Management Committee of the. New Zenhind Rugby Union met to-night to consider the reply from Auckland to the Instructions issued by the Management Committee that, pending the general meeting of delegates, the amended rules were to be played In Rugby patches. It was moved that tho Auckland Union be suspended under rule 37, but the motion was lost by four votes to three. The voting was: For: Marris, Pike, and Sladc; against: Howe, Cook, Captain Crawford, and Captain Jones. Mr. Mnnis announced that as tho result of the voto he could not seo his way to continue a member of the committee. He considered the tactics adopted by tho Auckland committee called for some aellon. STRATFORD WINS THURSDAY CHAMPIONSHIP The senior football match between Stratford and lnglewood on the Stratford Show Groundr yesterday, resulted in a win for Stratford 1)J 20 points to nil. Mr. Roch refereed. JUNIOR COMPETITION. CLIFTON DEFEAT STAR. Star and Clifton Juniors met In the Recreation Grounds yesterday, and, on tho day the visitors proved too good for the local team, winning by ft points to !i. In tho first spell, the score was Star 5, Clifton 3, Owen scoring tor Star as the outcome of a forward scramble, and Ruru gnaled. For Clifton, Jones scored as the outcome of a line passing bout, to which lie put the finishing touches with a good run In. In the early stages of the second spell, Clifton had much the belter of the game, and McKoy and Coneslake scored trios, neither of which was converted. During Hie final quarter of an hour, Star held tho advantage, but though they forced their opponents they were unable to score. Mr. J. Johnson refereed. When these teams met at Waitara, Star won by 17 points to !), and as both otherwise hold unbeaten records, a play off will probably lie necessary to decide tho championship in this division. SECOND JUNIORS. ELTHAM v. STAR. EUham second juniors forfeited to Star second juniors. PRIMARY SCHOOL COMPETITION. Central journeyed to Inglowood on Wednesday and defeated the home school by 21 points to :i, thus winning the championship for the nnrtern end. The visitors were hospitably entertained after the match. STAR v. RAHOTU. The following will represent Star Seniors in their match with Rahotu, in tho Recreation Grounds to-morrow:—Hooker, Handing, Morrison, Copestakc, Hartman, 11, Manu, Reynolds, Pennlall, Smith, Sheppard, Koea, Francis, Sutherland, Spcnce and Richards; emergencies, Stanley, Hughes.
