The dead body of a man, about 35 yean el an. was found underneath an overturned motor car at the bottom of .the bank at * akarn curve of the road. The car had a Chriatchurch registration. The viotim of a motor fatality on the Gorge Road wag found to be Daniel J Sweetaer, who was recently demobilised from the forces, in which he held toe rank of major. During the war he performed the duties of adjutant »t Trentham, was a married man with ■ family, and resided- at Petone.
