A PRISONER RECAPTURED.
SMART POLICE WORK. - Taumarunui, Last Night. On Saturday waning Constable FlemIng recaptured a ration ~" erf McDevitt, who ewac on April 1 last being escorted to Wellington. Wfctie, a constable was placing a bag on a rack in the carriage prisoner bolted, and was not seen again for three months. On July 30 Constable Fleming located accused at a sawmill at Xaroto, in the Ohura district, but before identity was proved McDevitt bolted again. His capture was made in a whare near Tokirima. Accused was remanded on a charge of breaking, entering, and stealing £125 worth of musical instruments from Oscar Brown's shop, Wellington. Accused pleaded guilty to escaping from cuatodv. and was remanded for
