TARANAKI ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.
To the Editor. Sir,—May I draw the attention of your readers to the annual meeting of the above to be held on the 13th inst? Since the starting of the society we have had uphill work on account of the war abroad. Some hundreds of young people have been taught how to save life frorfi drowning, ctr. 1 think lam safe in Baying that a few thousands of school children have benefited by the demonstrations given in various parts of the Taranaki Education district- Many schools have to be visited yet. Our society believes that its teachings should be a compulsory item in the school curriculum. I therefore ask both the adults and the junior brigade to roll up and put an impetus into what is a noble work not only for humanity but also for the improvement of the physique of the nation.—l am, etc., D.
