MOVING OF STUD STOCK. EFFECT OF RAILWAY RESTRICTIONS. Palmerston N., July 15. At a meeting of the Manawntu A. and r, Association Committee to-day, Mr. J. M. Johnston pointed out the difficulty of moving stud stock for breeding purposes by train. It was stated that several lots of stud stock which had been sold could not be got away, as the railway would not carry anything less than a full truck load. This was acting detrimentally to the sale of stud stock, hulls more especially. A resolution was passed that the matter be brought to the notice of the Minister of Railways, nnd Mr. S. R. Lancaster was asked to lay the resolution before the General Manager of Railways. I.lessrs. W. P. Dunvard and O. Haggett, representing the Kennel Club, asked the association to reinstate the dog show on its schedule, and this was agreed to. The Marlon and Marlborough Association wrote stating that they proposed improving their sliow grounds, and as they recognised Paimerston North as tho leading showgrounds In the North Island, they asked to be supplied Willi particulars and plans of the grounds and bul'dings. i It was decided to render everv assistance In tho direction desired. Mr. H. Gillies announced that Mr. J. Run junr., of Hunterville, had stated his intention of presenting the association with 50 guineas as a prize in the" open hunters' class. It was also stated that Mr. C. A. J. Levett had donated a perpotual challenge cup, valued at 50 guineas, for the champion Hereford bull
