REPORT OF THE LAST YEAH.. The tenth annual report of the executive of the Taranaki United Friendly Societies Association, which is to be {presented to the annual meeting of delegates at Stratford this month, congregates. the association on its improved financial position and continues: "At the end of last year the amount OWilig fori hospital accounts was £l2ll Os «d, ?nd ; thi| year £429 10s, which ig Terjr., satisfactory., considering this year has I>ee'n;an eventful and disastrous one forth? association owing to the scourge bf, liiSußjiSM, which helped to increase ihe indebtedness of the association. Members' claims for influenza cases amounted .to £231 Bs, which we, did not anticipate, and we trust that the coming year will be a more prosperous one for all concerned. It is with deep regret that we have to refer to the death of our late vice-president, Bro. A. Coldwell, who always took a keen interest in the welfare of the association. Our late brother was an able man in friendly society work, and had been a delegate to the association meetings for a number of years. We extend to the widow and fnmilv our sincere srmpftthy in their sad loss, and also to Court Ingle|food Forest, A.0.F., for which court he fras secretary. . The says that in the opinion of the executive this is the only course open and it is hoped the delegates will give the matter earnest consideration.
