AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile, Agency Co., Ltd., report:— On Thursday last at Westfleld store sale wa had a full entry of dairy cattle, and a large yarding of store stock. Dairy cows and heifers close to profit and just calved, best, £ls to £22 ss; others, £ll to £l4 15s; backward springers, be3t, £lO 5s to £ls 2s 6d; others, £8 to £10; fresh dropped calves, 63. to 8s; empty cows and heifers, £4 10a to £7 10s; aged inferior cows, £1 7s 6d to £3 IQa; steer calves, £1 15s to £2 18s; heifer calves, £1 5s to £2 12s; Inferior calves, 10s, upwards; bulls, £4 10s to £9 10s; yearling heifers, £3 to £4 2s Cd; yearling to 18-months steers, £3 10s to £0 2s Gd, There is an improved inquiry for breeding ewes. At Waluku on Saturday the demand for all classes of stock was again good, and we report a most successful sale. Dairy cows and heifers sold under keen competition. Best, £l2 10s to £18; others, £8 10s to £ll 10s; heifers suitable dairy purposes, £6 to £S 7s Od; heifer calves, £1 8s to £2 17s; steer calves, £1 15s to £3; Inferior calves, 15s upwards; empty cows and heifers, £5 10s to £8 10s. On Tuesday at Pultokohe: Ohbrokens, medium £l2 to £18; brokens, heavy draughts, young, £3O to £42 10s; older dittos, £l6 to £2B 10s; medium draughts, £2O to £29; aged and part worn ditto, £l2 to £lB 10s; hacks, £7 10s to £l6 10s; light harness sorts, £9 to £l7; ponies, £5 to £11; weeds, £2 upwards. At Westfleld fat stock market on Wednesday ftit cattle were • again yarded short of requirements. Competition was extra keen, and for anything of quality there was a rise of 3s to 4s per 1001b. Oxen sold at from, for prime quality, £2 12s Od to £2 15s per 1001b, in some cases this latter price was exceeded; inferlod fatted ox, £2' 8s to £2 lis per 100 lb; cow and heifer beef, £2 Gs to £2; 10s per. 1001b; steers sold at from £l3 10s to £2l; no. heavy weights penned; inferior, £ll to £l3 ss; cows and heifers sold at from £7 to £l4 17s Cd. Calves were penned in fair average, numbers for this time of the year, the demand, for all classes being keen at late . improved values. Runners, £5 to £8 10s, the latter for an extra prime 6 months heifer; heavy Tellers, £3 18s to £4 18s; medium, £3. to £3 lis Cd; light, £2 2s to £2 19s; lighter fat calves, 15s to £2; small and fresh dropped, 7s to 14s. Sheep were penned in average num--bers, and were better worth. No extra heavy weight wethers or ewes were yarded. Best wethers, £1 18s to £2 5s 3d; medium wethers, £1 15s to £1 17s 9d; light wethers, £1 12s to £1 14s 9d; best ewes, £1 12s to £1 16s 3d; medium. £1 8s to £1 lis Od; light ewes, £1 4s to £1 7s 9d; inferior ewes, 14s 3d to £1 2s Sd. Lambs were penned in average numbers, arid sold at late rates. Best, £1 6s to £1 10s; medium, £1 3s to £1 5s 9d; small. 18s to £1 2s 9d; inferior lambs. 16s to If* 9d. Pigs were again yarded short, of requirements, and again showed a sharp rise. Heavy choppers and bnconers, £6 10s to £8 ss; medium baconers, £5 10s to £0 ?s; heavy corkers, £1 10s to £5 9s; medium, £3 15s to £4 9s; light, £3 to £3 143; unfinished plga, £.l 2s to £2 10s. No weuners penned.
