JRANKLEY KOAD. (From a Correspondent) On Friday afternoon a children's function Was held In the gymnasium of the Frankley Koad School, tor the purpose of bidding farewell to Mr Winfleld. The children from both the Frankley and the Westown side school were well represented. Even the smaller tots of Westown went up to do honor to Mr Winfleld on his last day and the fact that the Frankley children, who hailing with delight the visit of their smaller friends, came about three-quar-ters of a mile to meet them, showed that the occasion was one of great expectation on the part of the children. At about 2.30 the children were assembled, and Master Ray Kidd In a few well chosen words, presented Mr Winfleld on behalf of the pupils of Frankley School with a solid leather suit ease; while Miss Warren in a neat and betltttng speech, on behalf of the teachers and children of the Weatown School, presented Mr Winfleld with a handsome shaving outfit. Mr Winfleld suitably replied. In the course of his remarks he Bald that in a few years the children who were present that afternoon would be growing Up and taking their part in the world as prominent men and women. He would always feel very proud to think that they had been his pupils. Mr. Winfleld also wished the children every success In their future school life. After the ceremony tea was served, and the disappearance of vast quantities of eatables, .was quite conclusive that the children had enjoyed themselves no less than they had anticipated. 'Hie afternoon was terminated by the singing of the National Anthem, and the giving of three cheers for Mr Winfleld.
