COACH ACCIDENT.
ON THE OTIRA ROUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Assooiation.; , Greyinotith, Last Night. An accident occurred in the Otira Gprge to-day at 3 p,m. to one of the mail coaches which was on its return trip from Arthur's Pass. When about three miles from Otira, at a place known as Candy's Hut, a steep hill, one horse is understood to have fallen, preolpitating the vehicle against the embankment, and scattering the passengers in. all directions. Two men were severely injured,; and three others sustained; mftlof injuries. The first-mentioned are Mr Wells (Woodstock, Weatland), back severely hurt, and Mr. King (Invercargill), injury to shoulder blade and arm. Two horses out of five were lost. The moils were on this coach, but were undamaged. The train was delayed at Otira for an hour, and brought all the sufferers to Greymouth. Dr. Jokuaton, Grey River Hospital superintendent, Was making an overland journey, and rendered medical aid.
