A' FISHERMAN'S FATE.

By Telegraph,—Press Association. , Auckland, Last Night. A drowning accident occurred at Karatahi Gap on the West Coast four miles from Waiuku this morning. Two men (A. Somerville and (}. Tivenon) were fishing from the rocks at the Gap, when a huge wave came suddenly in from seaward and dashed over the rocks on which they were standing. Somerville managed to cling to the rocks until the waters receded, but Tivenon was unable to retain his hold and was washed out to sea and drowned, his companion being unable to rescue him. Tivenon was a returned soldier, and was about 30 years of age.
