WEDDINGS.
AVERY—DOWNEY.
A quiet military wedding was solemnised at St. Michael's Church, Christchurch, on Tuesday, Juno 2, when Corporal J. E. (Ted) Avery, of New Plymouth, was married to Miss T. Downey, of Wellington, by the Rev. C. Perry. The bridegroom was attended I>y Lieut R. Mclsaac, M.C,. of New Plymouth, both being Main Body men lately returned to the Dominion. Mr. and Mrs. Avery intend residing in New Plymouth.
HOOKER-COSSET.
At the Presbyterian church, Inglewood, on June 3, Sfiss Irena Emily Cossey, danghter of Mr. J. Cossey, of TariH, was married to Mr. William Hooker, of Carterton, a member of the 22nd Reinforcements. Miss Winifred Mary Cossey acted as bridesmaid, and Mr. Norman Hooker was best man. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very dainty, Her dress being lilac crepe-de-chine, with the usual veil and orange blossoms. Her travelling dress was a navy blue costume. A reception was held at Mr. J. Co?spy''! residence atTariki, there being over 100 guests, including some from Wellington and Auckland. There was a valuable collection of wedding presents.
