DEATH FROM INJURIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston North, June G. Alexander Cahill, aged 3<t years, died in hospital this morning from injuries received in a cycle accident at Feilding last month. He leaves a wdow and five children. A WIDOWER'S DEATH. Invercargill, Last Night. Thomas Boyle, a widower, 48 years of age, died in the hospital as.' the result of poison self-administered on June 2. PTOMAINE POISONING. Ohristchurch, Last Night. The inquest was resumed to-day into the death of Mrs. Mary Theresa Williams, who died on May 30, from supposed ptomaine poisoning. The Government analyst gave evidence that the meat was perfectly wholesome, and from his examination he was of opinion that the food (pressed beef) decomposed in the body of deceased after being eaten, the decomposition being due to the state of deceased's intestines. The following verdict was returned: "Deceased di?d of ptomaine poisoning, brought on by eating pressed beef which, by reason of her diseased state, she was incapable of digesting. The meat itself *%e.a quite wholesome, and would have been innocuous to a healthy person.
