HUNTING.
NORTH TARANAKI CLUB. The second meet of tlie above club was held on Thursday 20th at Messrs Wood Bros.' property, Tikorangi. Thanks: to the generosity of the surrounding farmers practically the whole of the Tikorangi block, all ideal hunting country, -was thrown open to the club. Owing to the numerous hares found short choppy runs were the order of the day, the hounds being on cry practically from the throw-off until an adjournment was made for tea. "The best meet I have yet experienced," remarked the master on returning thanks to Mr and Mrs: Wood and the surrounding farmers for allowing members the privilege of hunting over their properties. Mr Hatcoinbe also expressed his pleasure at seeing so many young members following straight with hounds.
Among those following were noticed tlie Master, Mr Halcombe, on Larikau; deputy masters J. Cole and A. Wood, on Uruti and Wliakamoa respectively; Huntsman ft. Mason, on Billie and Toilet; .T. Northcott (whip), on Mick and Lady General; Jim Northcott, on Bluebell; A. Northcott, on Catherine; C. Cole, on The Limit; A. Cole, on lady Bird; L. Payne, on Glen Roval and Dopy; E. Rose, on£sa Hazard; M. Skeltori, on Squire; fT'l-Hirze, on Patronale; and D. Rumble, on Mangapo.
