DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC.

I'ookeii for acute appendicitis, the anaesthetic being administered by Dr. Wade. Am inquest was held yesterday afternoon, before Mr. IT. K. Cattley, J. P., and fue following jury: .Messrs If. F. Russell, W. Inch, E. Allen, R. Collins, A. E. Martin. and Ij. li. i-loodacrc.

Evidence was given to show that the child appeared unwell on Friday morning, and as homely treatment made 110 improvement, a doctor was summoned on Saturday at about noon. Dr. Wade arrived at the house between 5 and 0 in the afternoon and. ordered the patient's imemdiate removal to the hospital. An operation was performed at 10 o'clock the same night, but deceased died while undergoing the operation. Dr. Wade stated the anaesthetic, given was tho usual mixture. Deceased was in a bad way and he took the anaesthetic Itadly from the start, and succumbed durinrr the operation. Dr. Fookes also gave evidence. The verdict returned was that death took place while deceased was undergoing an operation, and was due to the sudden flooding of the larynx with blood and to suffocation.
