THE MINISTER FOR PUBLIC WORKS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. The Minister for Public Works arrived at Gisborne on Tuesday, and left on a tour of the coast, going as far as the Waiapu river. He inspected the sites of two proposed bridges over the Waiapu. In reply to deputations the Minister said the main bridge at Waiapu would be repaired as soon as possible, and the construction of the second bridge would be gone on with as soon as men and material were available Tho Minister promised a grant of £3OOO for the road Tolaga Bay-Gisborno. Sir Wm. Fraser returned to-day and will leave for the south on Sunday.
