ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
INQUESTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, May 10. An inquest was opened regarding the death of Isabella McKay Wisliart, 28 years old and single. The father gave evidence that deceased had always been healthy. She was at a party yesterday evening, and appeared well and in good spirits. When he went to wake her this morning he found her just breathing. He summoned a doctor, but by the time the doctor arrived the girl was dead. The doctor was unable to state the cause of death. The inquest was adjourned for a post mortem examination. Christchurch May 10. An inquest on Alexander Matheson, who was fatally injured by a fail from a horse, was held this morning. Evidence showed that deceased, who was riding a young, restive horse, lost the veins, and, in an endeavor to regain them, fell and broke his neek. A verdict was returned accordingly. Deceased was a returned soldier, having only arrived that day by the Kia Ora. His people live in Scotland.
