A SHIPPING MISHAP.

A LIGHTER RUNS AMOK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night., A shipping accident occurred in the roadstead this morning, when.the lighter Agnes Martin, laden with 151 cases of tallow, belonging to Borthwick & Sons, struck the liner Kaikoura head on. She apparently opened up a seam, as she commenced to settle at the bows, and finally toppled over on to her side, and almost disappeared. The crew escaped !in a small boat. She was taken in tow 'by the Richardson & Co.'s vessels and taken to Glasgow Wrarf, where she will be lightered and then placed on the slip for repairs. A quantity of tallow broke loose after she toppled over, and, in all, 70 casks have been recovered. A number are still afloat in the sea and in the lighter.
