PEACE CELEBRATIONS.
TAKE PLACE ON SIGHTING PRE- [ LIMINARY PEACE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington,' Last Night. Sir James Allen states that the Government has been in communication with the Imperial Government to ask whether they would say if the celebrations were to taice place on the signing of preliminary peace or final peace- We have been unable to get au answer, so wo have had to decide ourselves. Cabinet has come to the conclusion that the celebrations should take place on the signing of the preliminary peace. As this may take place at any time, those local authorities who are desiring to carry out celebrations are warned they should make their preparations without delay. The Minister of Internal Affairs has been asked to circulate this information to local bodies. As spon as we get official intimation of the signing of the preliminary peace, we will notify the public- I hope the people will not accept anything but official j information from the
