PEACE CELEBRATIONS ARRANGEMENTS. Melbourne,. April 25. The Federal Government has decided upon a two days' period of peace celebrations—Sunday for thanksgiving, Monday for a holiday.—Aus.-N.Z. N.Z Cable Assoc. A COMPREHENSIVE HOUSING . SCHEME. Sydney, April 25. The State Government is launching a comprehensive houing scheme. It is proposed to build houses to let, to build homos for those desiring to purchase on the instalment system, to assist people to erect homes for themselves in chosen districts, also to finance the purchase of house? already occupied, to assume the financial responsibility of Star Bowkett societies in order to allow members to atnicipate the ballot, and to arrange for the conversion of life assurance assets, the owner to devote them to house purchasing propositions.—Aus.
