RETURNING SOLDIERS.
CONDITIONS ON THE BHAMO. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, April 25. The transport Bhamo arrived this morning with 770 of all ranks, « nurses, 14 officers' wives, and four children. The health of the troops has been good except for mumps, of which 23 cases were removed to isolated quarters to-day. There was a slight outbreak of influenza early in the voyage, the last case on March 28. A CONVOY'S ADVENTUROUS , CAJREEE. • Wellington, April 25. The Waimarino, which arrived on Wednesday night from Newcastle, berthed thiß,morning. She has been absent from these waters for two years and two months, and has been engaged njdinly in convoy work in the Mediterranean. She had numerous fights with submarines, but was never hit. She is the sole survivor of six "W" ships—the Waikawa, Waihemo, Waitemata, Wairuna and Waitota having been destroyed or captured.
