The Hon_ Wilford may be in a, position to announce late to-morrow night the result of tlie count of the whole votes of the soldiers in New Zealand- The North Island vote-j were completed to-day and a start will bo made on the South island to-morrow. The latest grand total of the licensing poll io as follows: Continuance ; . .u-.-.-.i.. -240,700 Prohibition ■.. 247,438 Continuance majority ....... 2,268 AN AUSTRALIAN OPINION. Sydney. April 24. Mr. Bruntnoll, member of the Assembly, has returned from New. Zealand, where he participated in the prohibition campaign. He said the main causes of were the feeling among, sympathisers that it was unwise to take the vote while the soldiers were atfay, and the apathy shown by the women of the Dominion.
