McDonald (president of the club) defeated R. McK. Morison, after a ding-dong contest, 19— 18, and F. Foley triumphed over W. Harris. The final was then decided on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Peattie being referee. The final scores were in favor of Foley, who registered 23 points against McDonald's 12. The scores, however, were no criterion of the contest, according to the referee, who summed up the play as extremely close, Foley invariably scoring with his last bowl". These contests were inaugurated in 1904, A. K. Smart being the first champoan and H. W. Betts prevailing in 1905. O. M. Curtis monopolised the honors next, 1900, 1907, and 1908 finding him the champion. 1909 was an unsatisfactory year, but in 1910 R. McK. Morison held the honor and trophies, George Sangster winning next. George Smart was the next champion, 1912 being his year. The following year R. McK. Morison celebrated his second win, and was followed by the present president, W. McDonald, in 1914. George Smart next followed the example of Morison, landing the honor in 1916. The next two years saw S. Sharp heralded champion, and last year the veteran of them all, J. S. Rowe, won the honor, and, through an oversight in overlooking his nomination, was debarred from competing in the present series.

INGLEWOOD.v. WAITARA. Three, and probably,;four, rinks are expected to represent Inglewood in a match against. Waitaja on the. latter's green' on Monday.
