BACK FROM THE WAR.

TARANAKI MEN RETURN. The mail train arrived in New Plymouth last night over half an hour late, due to the fact that a large number of men who arrived in New Zealand by the Willochra were returning. No fewer than 65 men returned to Taranaki, and were given hearty welcomes all along the line. At Hawera the station was befkgoed and speeches of welcome were given. The men were, also entertained to tea at the station. Large crowds p.ssembled at the various stations where the men disembarked. At New Plymouth there was a very large attendance. The Citizens' Band, under Bandmaster McLeod, rendered "Home Sweet Home" as the train steamed into the station. Several members of the Patriotic Committee* were present, but the men were quickly surrounded by their friends. Capt. Blyth had charge of the party, which comprised: — Patoa.—Sec. Lieut. F. McKenna.
