TO ENSURE PEACE. UNION OF BRITAIN AND AMERICA. New York, April 10. The New York Bar Association tendered a dinner to Lord Reading, at which Mr. Elihu Root, in the course of a speech, said that the union of Britain and the United States was necessary in order to preserve the peace of the world and prevent the spread of Bolshevism. NON-RECOGNITION OF SOVIET GOVERNMENT. New York, April 15. The Washington correspondent of the New York Herald states authoritatively that the United States does not contemplate the recognition of tlie Russian Soviet Government, despite reports to the contrary from Paris.
