TARANAKI JOOKJEY CLUB. A meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held on Tuesday last, Mr. L. A. Nolan presiding. Certilicates of fitness and character were granted to applicants for a trainer's license and a gentleman rider's certificate. Several transfers of ownership of horses engaged in the 6th Taranaki Stakes were approved. An application for permission to form a hockey ground on the course was referred to the chairman to deal with. The gymkhana committee of the Peace Celebrations Committee was granted permission to hold a function on the racecourse during the celebrations.

It was decided to donate £lO 10s to the Peace Celebrations Committee.

It was resolved to apply for the following days during the forthcoming season: Friday and Saturday, December 26 and 27, IM9, and Wednesday and Thurs. day, February 1! and 12, lflH).

The committee also decided to apply to the conference for permanent dates for the February meetings, namely, the second Wednesday and Thursday in the month.

The Peace Celebrations Committee was granted the use of the course if needed for the purpone of the procession, provided it was shown to the satisfaction of the committee that heavy vehicles which may be used in the procession would not damage the tracks. Tt was decided to advise the Borough Council that the club's offer made in •Tune last with respect to improvements in Gover Street would stand good, provided the work was completed by December next.

A sub-committee consisting of the ,Hon. 0. Samuel, Messrs L. A. Nolan, rt Chancy, and F. Watson, was appointed to report with regard to notices of motion for the next meeting of the Racine Conference.

Accounts amounting to £l7l Is }od were passed for payment.

NORTH TARANAKI HUNT CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annua! meeting of the North Taranaki Hunt Club was held on Saturday afternoon at the Soldiers' Club, New Plymouth. Mr. B. H. Chaney presided over a small attendance-

ANNUAL REPORT. The committee, in its report, congratulated the club on the success of i. k s season, in spite of war conditions. Prom a hunting point of view the season had been disappointing on account of the number of wet Thursdays. Followers were, however, undaunted, and good hunting was experienced. Reference was made to the racing curtailment, which prevented the club holding a meeting during the year, and to tne generosity of the Egmont Racing Club, to whom the day was allotted, in including for hunters on their programme and in sharing the profits of the meeting with the Hunt Club. The thanks of the members waa due to the Egmont Club for the present financial position of the Hunt Clubi Several new members were elected during me year. Thanks was expressed to the farmers of the district who had permitted hunting over their properties. The huntsman (Mr. Mason) had proved a successful officer, and had a splendid pock for hunting. Thanks was expressed to all who had assisted to keep tne Hunt together during the war perlrtl, and a hope was expressed that hunting would now resume its former standard. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance ~f £34 4s lid.

A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Egmont Racing Club for including races for hunters on their programme and offering to share the profits of the. meeting with the Hunt Club. The T.J.C. was also thanked for its encouragement of the Hunt Club. Messrs Hrtlcombe, Chaney, and Hookham were appointed a sub-committee to arrange the matter of grounds for hunting over during the seasonSeveral donations were offered to provide prizes for jumping events on we opening day for new members, and it was decided to arrange some competitions. Thanks was expressed for the donations. 'Presentations were made to Mr. Stratton and Mr. Morse, of the Egmont Racing Club.

A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the proceedings.
