GOLF.
EASTER TOURNAMENT, Considerable interest is being shown in the Taranaki Championship and Handicap Tournament, to be held on the New Plymouth Golf Club's course at the Waiwakaiho during Easter. Applications for entry forms have been received from all parts of the North Island, and entries have already come in from Lower' Hutt, Wellington, Otaki, Palmerston North. Wanganui, Te Aroha, •Masterton and Dunedin. We are Informed that about fifteeu competitors are coming from Hawera and twelve from Inglewood, so everything points to this year's tournament being a record. Local players who propose taking part in the competitions are requested to assist the committee by sending in their entries as early as possible. The energetic committee in control of affairs has the work well under way and, given fine weather, the visitors should find the general course, greens, and approaches a pleasure to play on.
As usual lunch will be -obtainable at the pavilion, and the ladies' committee has kindly taken charge of the afternoon tea arrangements, which will undonblcdlv be appreciated by the players. Intending players are again reminded that entries, with entrance fees, must roaA the secretary, Mr. W. TT. Wood, by Wednesday next, the IGth inst.
