The New York Aero Club of America has announced tliat a cablegram has been received from the British Air Ministry sayiug that an invitation to fly a dirigible across tlie Atlantic to Atlantic City during the Pan-American Aeronautic Exposition in May is being considered. —Aus.-N.Z. A message from St. John's, Newfoundland, states that Hawker's aeroplane, with which he plans » trans-Atlantic flight on April 12, has been transferred from the icebound steamer Digby to the coastwise steamer Portia, which transports the plane to the shore for transit to its starting place.—Aus. Hawker proposes to leave St. Johns at] four o'clock in the afternoon, and hopes to arrive at Brooklands at four next afternoon, the total flying time being nineteen hours. A boat-shaped fuselage will support the aeroplane if an ocean descent is forced. Food will be carried sufficient for forty-eight hours. On a former flight of nine hours in the same aeroplane 14 gallons of gasolene were consumed—just one-third of the tank capacity. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc. THE TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT. London, April 8. The forthcoming transatlantic flight is exciting tremendous interest on both sides of the Atlantic. The Air Ministry and the Admiralty have decided to give the utmost assistance.
