THANKS OF GENERAL PAU. FOR CORDIALITY OF WELCOME. London, April 3. Official: General Pau, who has just returned from his mission to Australia and New Zealand, took the earliest possible opportunity of calling upon Mr. Massey, as Prime Minister, to express, i'ii behalf of himself and members of the Commission, their very high appreciation of the cordiality of their welcome to New Zealand and of the arrangements made, both by the Government and the local authorities, in connection with the Mission.

The General and his colleagues express themselves as having been delighted with thfeir visit to New Zealand, their only regret was their inability to remain longer in so charming a country among so hospitable a, people.
