A LIBEL ACTION.
DAILY MAIL ACQUITTED. London, April 4. A verdict for defendants was returned in the Le Bas versus the Daily Mail for alleged libel. Plaintiff. Sir Hcilley Le Bas, conducted j newspaper campaign against Mr. Lloyd George, paying provincial papers t'o insert articles. Defendant? attacked Le Bas, asserting that he would probably assist the enemy and corrupt the press. They never questioned plaintiff's loyalty, but said he conducted the campaign bv unfair methods. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
