MIDHIRS (From Our Own Correspondent.) At the recent prohibition meeting in Midhirst, the chairman (Mr. Sangster) had occasion to appeal to a somewhat persistent interjector to give the speakers "British fair play." At the conclusion Mr. Coleman, of Stratford, asked permission of the chairman to make a few remarks from the stage. The chairman, however, lirmly refused, although M)r. I'owdrell had announced at the commencement of the meeting that questions were invited and that anyone wishing to speak on the other side ofthe question would he allowed ten minutes, reserving the right to reply. In refusing to allow this invitation to be accepted, many present thought the chairman's action to be hardly up to the standard of what is usually* considered British fair play. On the 2!) th hist, a well attended meeting was held to consider the revival of the Midhirst athletic sports meeting. Mr. Ferguson was voted to the chair, and remarked that now the war was over and many of the boys back he thought that it would be a good move to revive the meeting. (Applause). It was decided that a ball be held in the evening of April 17. A strong committee was set up and a number of subcommittees and officials appointed, and it was evident from the hearty interest displayed thftt there is every reason to anticipate the meeting wi'll be a popular and successful one. j
