Replying to a request by the Seamen's Union lor time off to permit the seamen to exercise their vote at the licensing poll, the Union S.S. Company agreed to give its men two hows, and the Blackball Co. agreed to four hours. Some of the companies will allow a reasonable time, others leaving the decision with the Shipworkers' Federation. Regarding peace celebrations, the Blackball Company will grant leave on condition that the men return to their ships by the appointed hour of sailing. The other companies decided to allow the Shipowners' Federation to settle the question.
