A FALSE ALARM.

MEN CEASE WORK ON SHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The men engaged in discharging cargo on the steamer Westland stopped work to-day owing -to a rumor that there had been a case of influenza aboard. It appears that two members of the crew were taken to the hospital, but it is stated that neither of the men was suffering from influenza. On hearing of the occurrence the men discharging the Dunsyro, which was alongside the Westland, also stopped work. The Westland was fumigated, and it was stated on behalf of the men; that they would resume work to-morrow morning.
