SUGGESTED SALE OF STATE-OWNED SHIPS. Received March 20. 7,30 p.m. London, March 10. Mr. Tredwen, chairman of the Australasian Merchants' Association, interviewed, said the merchants generally were not in favor of Government trading. He suggests that the Commonwealth would do well to follow the British example and sell its steamers at the vexccllent prices now obtainable, and so make a large profit, which may he impossible a few years hence.—Aus.
