SOCIALIST CANDIDATE. SENT TO GAOL Received 14. 11 p.m. Washington, March 10. The Supreme Court sustained the conviction of Eugene Debs, four times a Socialist candidate for the presidency, on a charge of inciting to sedition and making disloyal speeches. His sentence of ten years was confirmed.
BOLSHEVISTS AND ANARCHISTS.' MOTIVE PROPAGANDA. Received 14, 1 p.m. Washington, March 10. Solicitor General before the Senate Propaganda Committee, stated the 1.W.W., Bolshevists and anarchists were perfecting an amalgamation of their foree3 m the United States with the object of overthrowing the Government by means of a bloody revolution and replacement by a Bolshevist republic. This propaganda, on a tremendous scale, was continuing.
CONSTRUCTION OF CRUISERS SUSPENDED.
Washington, March 11. Mr Daniels lias ordered that tha construction of bix big cruisers be suspended until a decision is reached re garding the best type of ship.
