OVERCROWDING IN SCHOOLS.
CHILDREN SUFFER, By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Auckland, March 12. The Education Board has received advice that an officer of the Department will visit Auckland to inquire into the question of overcrowding in the schools. The report presented to the board by its inspector shows there is overcrowding in a number of schools under its jurisdiction, and this officer stated that some children had suffered from defective eyesight owing to the wretched lighting arrangements in some of the older schools.
