MATATUA AND RUAPEHU MEN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Feb. 21. The number of returned soldiers landed from the Matatua. at 10 a.m. to-day was (137. With the exception of those for Gisborne and stations between Palmerston North and Napier, who will be sent away by the 9.10 train tomorrow morning, and those for stations between Palmerston North and New Plymouth, who arc to leave by the 8.20 a.m express to-morrow, all North Island men left by the ordinary trains to-day. All the South Island troops leave to-night. The Ruapehu, with 392 soldiers, 185 soldiers' wives, and between 70 and 80 young children, will berth at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Those for all station* north of Marton will leave by an extra Auckland express at 2 p.m. to-morrow, those for Picton and Nelson by the Mapourika on Monday, those for other ports in the South Island by the Mararoa to-morrow night. Ordinary trains tomorrow will take the remainder of the North Island troops and the wives and children.
