POLAND.

GERMANY AND POLAND. THE HUNS STILL INSOLENT.

Received Jan. 20, 5.45 p.m. London, Jan. 23.

The Morning Post draws attention to Germany sending troops to Poland in spite of England's remonstrances. Germany insolently expressed surprise that &he was requested to refrain from provocation in regard to Polish inhabitants in East and West Prussia, Silesia and Posen, suggesting that Britain has inadequate information, and proceeds to accuse the Poles of provoking the Germans. The newspaper adds that if the Allies permit Germany to attack Poland they will not only acquiesce in crime, but acknowledge that Germany is not conquered. The newspaper demands firmer methods.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc.
