FIRES.
A CHRISTCHURCH OUTBREAK. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Christchurch, Dec. 5. A fire broke out this morning in Maddren Bros' flock and rope factory. The brigade soon arrived and the outbreak was suppressed. A number of machines Were seriously damaged, and some material was destroyed, but water caused the chief damage. The building atfected by the fire was insured for £3783, but no estimate of the amount of the damage has been made yet.
