NEW ZEALAND LABOR PARTY.

- NEW PLYMOUTH BRANCH. At a meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the Labor Party held on Friday night, the following officers were appointed::—President, Mr. P B. Fitzherbort; vice-president, Mr. Leonard Hill; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. Nash; executive, Mrs. Eva G. Beard and Messrs F. Julian, C. Ullmer, G. B. Bianchavd, and H. Hedley. The following resolution was carried unanimously:—'That the secretary be instructed to write the member for Taranald and the Labor members of Parliament asking for ar inquiry to be made into the matter of the Niagara having been brought up to the Auckland wharf whilst infe'eted with influenza, which was epidemic, such action having, apparently, been icsponsible for the loss of many lives and the pause of muchniffering and distress throughout the Dominion."
