NATIONAL LABOR PARTY.
BRANCH. FOKMED IX NEW PLY. '' .MOUTH. A meeting of those interested in the formation 01 a branch, in the Taranaki electorate, of the New Zealand Labor Party, was held at Oriflitlis' Buildings last night. Mr. W. 11. Pitzpatrick presided, and there were about 40 present, including some ladies. Mr. W. Nash traversed the constitution of the party, and explained its aims, at the conclusion of which a number of questions were asked relative to the objects. After some discussion, the following resolution was carried: —"That we, tile undersigned, consider it advisable that ;i branch of the New Zealand Labor Party for the electorate of Taranaki should be established, and pledge ourselves to do ail in our power to bring about the reforms set out in the party's platform as explained." Those willing to join the party then attached their signatures to the resolution, about 25 joining. It was decided to hold the first meeting of the party on November S, and that the election of officers take place at that meeting. A hearty vote of thanks was pnssed to Mr. Na»ri for his explanation of the party's platform, and a vote was accorded to the chairman.
