HEAVY FIGHTING IN BERLIN
BETWEEN PRO-WAR AND ANTI-WAR FACTIONS. | POLICE'REDE THROUGH CROWDS. , : Received Oct. 18, 11.50 p.m. Tho Hague, Oct. 17. Street fighting occurred in Berlin on Friday and Saturday. _ Beginning with Nationalist demonstrations, demanding the continuance of the ■war, these processions traversed the Wilhelmstrasse and Unter den Linden, denouncing the Government. Counter demonstrations were immediately organised on a large scale. At first they were merely noisy, and then heavy fighting took place. The police were outnumbered, and some severely injured. Strong patrols of soldiers and mounted police rode through the crowd until nightfall.—United Service.
