Mr. Dodgshun has received cable adWce that her soil, Captain G. M. Dodgshun, has arrived safely in England.

The West End School Committee, at its mee mg last night, resolved to forward a letter of sympathy to the widow and lamily of the late Mr. H. J. H. Okey. Word has been received in Hawera that Private M. S .Dickson, who, up to t of enlistin g. was in the employ of Mr. E, C. Hayton, plumber, has died of wounds in France.

Mr. T. Moss, member of the National Efficiency Board, was m New Plymouth yesterday, and conferred with the local Board of Trustees. In the afternoon ho left for Stratford. •

Mr. E. L. Mason, since receiving his cuscharge from the Expeditionary Force has been on a holiday visit to Australia. He leaves this morning for Timaru, where he takes up the position of accountant of the Timaru branch of the ■tank of Australasia.

At yesterday's 1 meeting of the New Plymouth Harbor Board a resolution was passed expressing the sympathy oi the Board with Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P, on account of the death of his son, Lieutenant H. Wilkinson, MC Croix de Guerre (Beige).

A cable announces the death of Bishop Stone-Wigg, of Sydney. Dr StoneWigg has died at the comparatively early age of 57, but had led a busy life. Educated at Winchester and at University College, Oxford, where he distinguished himself and subsequently became Eainsden preacher at the 'Varsity, he took orders in the diocese of Ely, and soon afterwards came out to Australia. In 1892 he was appointed canon residentiary and sub-dean or St. John's Cathedral, Brisbane, a position !lie occupied for six years. Then he became first Bishop of New Guinea, and had ten years of strenuous work, and failing health compelled him to resign, After a short rest ho devoted himself to "slum" work in the city of Sydney. Lately he had been very unwell, and hi 3 brother, Mr A. J Stone-Wigg, now residing in Hawera, ha'd recently received news which told of dangerous complications. The Bishop leaves a widow and two children.—-Star.

S., Corbett, who died of wounds on October 1, was the eldest son of the late Mr. George Corbett, Okato, and a grandson of the late MrsRoebuck, of Gill Street, New Plymouth, At one time Lance-Corporal Roebuck was enagged in survey work and in road contracting at Ohura and Whangamomona, and later he joined the railway service. He enlisted in May, 1010, went away with the 16th Reinforcements, and earned his non-commissioned rank in the field. He was wounded and in hospital for five months before going back to the front last October.
