PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.

MONTHLY MEETING. The New Plymouth Patriotic Committee on Friday night held its first meeting since the animal meeting bold on September 27. TCiose present were: His Worship tlve Mayor (Mr. C. H. McLeod, G. Fraser, \V. A. Collis, L. M. Monteath (lion,.see.)! The Mayor was re-elected chairman, and the following officers were also reelected: Deputy-ehairmau, Mr. W. J. Chaney; secretary, Mr. L. M. Monteath; treasurer, Mr. J. Paton. An executive and investigation committee was set tip as follows: The chairman, tlie deputychairman, and Messrs Bellringer, Monteath, and Paton. The following were appointed a soldiers' comforts committee: The Mayoress, ■ Messrs Hayden, Fraser, Hill, Hoskin, List, and Sadler. The representatives of the committee on the management committee of the Soldiers' Club were chosen as Messrs Hill and Carter. The hon. treasurer (Mr. J. Paton) submitted a statement showing the balance of t'iie patriotic fund to be £7O 10s lid, motor car account .£25, Y.M.C.A. fund £O, wounded soldiers fund £2 10s. The first Friday evening in each month was fixed as the time for meeting for the ensuing year. Accounts amounting to £SS 4s 3d "were passed for payment.
