ELTHAM COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The Eltham Countv Council mot on Saturday.- Present: 'Os. C J. Belcher (chairman), W. Hardwick Smith, E. J. Clifford, C. E. McGuinness A. C. Pease. W M Barker, A. V. Mes-ena, and A. L. Campbell. F. Norris, organiser of the National Service League, stated, that Masterton had decided to advocate starting memorial workshops in New Zealand after the style of Lord Roberts' workshops in Englond, and soliciting the co-operation of the council in the ''Lest;we forget" campaign, —Approved. Hawcra County Hospital Board notified a special levy of 8 in the £IOO, Fltham 'County's eon'.r'hition being Ss. Received. The Minister for Public Works notified a Government subsidy of £IOO for flood damage repairs in the Rawhitiroa Road district.—Received Gordon Sager (Te Roti) complained of the unsatisfactory state of Rodger Road, and hoped the council would attend to same.—Left to the engineer to attend to. E. J. Gibson (Stuart Road) requested the council to open un a culvert and creek backing up on his property.—Left to the engineer. '■Matemateonga Sehot.l Committee wrote thanking the council for the use of a room in the council's building, Glen-nui, for scTiool purposes.—Received A request was received from the manager of Hatrick's property at Omoana to keep the road open for motor traffic The council will do all possible to keep the road in good repair. Eight ratepayers of Upper Auroa. Road urged the council to complete the metalline of the road, commenced last year. Edward de May (Awa*una) also complained of the delay in attending to the road. Egmont County Council wrote that they were prepare to expend £l5O on the road, provided the Eltham County did likewise.
