The Washington correspondent of the New York .Times states that Mr Hurley, chairman of the United States Shipping Board, has announced an addftional shipbuilding programme for the construction of 454 vessels of 1,500,000 dead weight tens, of which 210 will be steel and 244 wooden—Aus.-N.Z. Assn.
