BAND CARNIVAL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee was held on Tuesday night in Mr. Cattley's oflice. Miss Andrews, hon. secretary N-P.H.S.O.GA., wrote stating that her association would undertake the whole of the refrshment stalk (afternoon tea not included). Messrs Cattley and Howarth reported having interviewed the Mayoress, who expressed her willingness to organise a committee to undertake the afternoon tea arrangements. The committee expressed satisfaction with these .reports, knowing these important portions of the day's programme 'will be in capable hands. Mr. Hooker reported that arrangements were well in hand regarding side shows. He had secured expert assistance, and there is no doubt, that success will result. Mr. Brooker advised that a good supply of Chinese lanterns for the night's entertainment had been secured. Definite information regarding the masquerade dancing, etc., will be forthcoming at a later da'te. A spectacular treat is in store for those who attend at the Recreation Grounds on the night of October 28. Mr. Petty was deputed to confer with Mr. Milne regarding the lighting arrangements for the football ground. Messrs Flanagan and Large reported having interviewed the principals of the local schools, and the items promised will considerably add to the day's enjoyment. Messrs Smith, Cattley, Ward, and Howarth were appointed a finance committee.
The general committee holds its next meeting in Mr- Cattley's office on the 14th inst, at 7.30 p.m.
